I have always been drawn to and intrigued by the beautiful leading ladies in the movies. I think it is safe to say that people are drawn to beautiful people. But as I have gotten older and a little wiser, I have realized the high price that most of these leading ladies pay for keeping up with the harsh standards of beauty in the movie making business. I am so thankful I don't have to deal with that! My success does not depend on my weight, waist size, bust line, and facial features. And, I don't have to go by their(Hollywood's) standard of beauty. I can be beautiful without being 120 lbs, a size 6 or smaller, or have perfect facial features! I can let my body be what it wants to be and that's ok! I don't have to obsess about what I am eating and how much exericse I perform to keep my body a certain way. I am so thankful for the peace it brings to me! It's true that I need to remind myself these truths every now and then when I am struggling with body image, but when I remember these things, I feel so liberated and happy!

Abbi and I were discussing this morning how beauty is so compelling, and we decided that it's not wrong to appreciate beauty, we just need to recognize it comes in an endless variety!

That is so true! Have you ever noticed how children are drawn to beautiful/good looking people. It is so funny. Hannah was probably two and we were out somewhere and she noticed a good looking guy, probably in his 20's... she said... "look at that guy mom, he's nice"... who knows if he was or not, but kids are so funny that way!
