There are some family habits you have as a child that you carry on as an adult, and then there are some habits that you don't carry on. Eating cereal in the the morning is a tradition I have carried on as an adult. My parents ate cereal every morning and not only have I carried that on, I eat what they eat. I mix and layer cereals. I try and get cereals with lots of fiber and then top it with granola to make it yummy (got it from my mom). I sometimes layer lots of cereals and then add nuts or fruit to it (got it from my dad). I do this every morning and now my kids are doing it every morning. Mike still hasn't picked up the habit - "Grape nuts, Audra? Yuck!". It sometimes surprises me to hear other people talking about their breakfast and not mentioning cereal. It is such a shock to me - "you mean that you don't eat cereal every morning?!" When I wake up, it is the first thing I think of, and the frist thing I get excited about. My days get off to a great start with a little fiber and granola! Can't live without it!
