As a continuation of my entry about preparing kids for kindergarten, I thought I'd include a list of "high frequency words" they have the kids memorize or learn. Our school gave us flash cards to practise with the kids. It has been really helpful! Here are the 24 words:

It is so interesting that I can't remember learning how to read. I really have no recollection of how I learned to read. So when Kyle and Jordan showed signs of readiness to learn how to read, I didn't know how to best help them. It has been fun for me to get this information from their school and to practise with the boys. What an exciting thing!
