Wednesday night I watched the 20/20 interview with Barbara Walters and Terri Irwin, Steve Irwin's (the Crocodile Hunter) widow. I cried the whole hour! His unexpected death has really touched me and my heart goes out to all his family and his friends. Since they lived a life in front of the camera and we have watched all their shows, I feel like I know them. I am sure many people who have watched The Crocodile Hunter feel the same way. I have learned more about him and his family since his death and I am just more and more impressed with his life and what he stood for. Of all the family celebrities that live their life in front of the camera, here is finally a success story of love and happiness! It is clear to me that Steve and Terri love each other very much. They had hard times - imagine trying to keep up with Steve! They had heart ache as Steve was criticized for certain actions. They had tragedy as Steve's mother died in a car accident. They had ups and downs, for sure, but they got through those hard times together and they still love each other very much. Steve involved his family in his work and he cherished that time together. He used his financial success to further his conservation work. He was passionate about animals and protecting them in their evnironment. He worked hard and he had a lot of fun. There was no one like Steve Irwin and he will be greatly missed. I know that our family will miss him.

I am also so impressed with Terri and her strength of getting through this terrible tragedy. She says that they are devestated from this accident, but they must go on with faith and courage. She has two children, Bindi and Bob, that she must be strong for and my heart aches for her heavy burden. I know that time will help, but I am so sad that Bindi and Bob have to live their life without their dad and Terri without her husband.

Having little naturalist boys and a naturlalist husband who learned some snake tricks from Steve, I feel close to the Irwin family. They have affected our lives and I pray for them. They have a good foundation of love, faith, and hope and I know they will be able to get through this hardest time of life.

When she said "I lost my prince" I almost bawled. And the fact that she'll miss Steve because he was "fun" just caught me. Their life together is one of the world's sweetest romances. People can learn a lot from watching their passion.
