Yesterday was Kyle and Jordan's first soccer game of the season. It is just so much fun to see my children involved in activities! It is such a joy to see their excitement, their little successes, their characters coming out as they try new things. I feel like I am living on the other side of life now. One side of life is when you are a child and have someone taking care of you. I have already lived that side of life. The other side of life is as an adult and as a parent taking care of children. I am learning what that is like now. Every now and then I stop to think and realize, "So this is what it was like for my mom and dad. This is what it was like for all the parents before me. So this is what it is like to be a mom!" I am sure that parents throughout the earth share similar emotions, frustrations, and experiences and now I am learning what those are.
About the game - all the kids on the field huddle around the soccer ball and all try and kick it at once. Every now and then it will get kicked out of the huddle and then it is a race to see who can catch up to it the fastest. And then pretty soon, all the kids are huddled around the ball again. Jordan, being the aggressive boy he is, likes to shove his way through the huddle, push people around, get pushed back, trip and fall. He pretty much likes the wrestling part of the game! Kyle, on the other hand, tries hard not to push other kids or get pushed. He is a very polite player. His politeness keeps him from getting control of the ball. So really, their soccer games are for them to run around and get lots of exercise! Jordan also likes to be the goalie. He declares that NOBODY can score on him. He says that, even though the other team scored three goals on him! I love their positive attitudes.

Definitely, Natalie! Mike can watch the kiddos one of these days he has off and we can head down there!
Wow, that brings back great memories! It just seems like yesterday.....
You are officially a "soccer mom"! What fun, and it looks like the boys love it.
we had fun with audrey's soccer team last season. but, she's not into it enough to sign up again. oh well, guess we'll wait for parker and little league, one of the main reasons i'm so glad I have little boys!
and I totally agree about the parenting thoughts, especially now that our babies are in kindergarten. i feel old and young at the same time; it's weird.
I wish our girls would do sports. That looks so fun! I guess for now I'll enjoy our little dancers.
