letter of thanks

Dear Houston,

You have been good to us! Your childrend's attractions were so great for our boys. We raised our kids at your parks, playgrounds, musuems, zoo, restaurants, libraries, and stores. You gave us so many opportunities to play and enjoy life. For that, we will always remember you. You did scare us a few times with some terrible storms and possible flooding. And you made us sweat way too much! And I must say that you are not a pretty city. But you do have your strengths. Your weather from November to April is great! And your best feature is the people who live there. We met the best of the best while living in Houston. Those people are dear to our hearts. We thank them for everything they have done for our family. They have changed our lives. They have changed who we are. And as we said our good-byes, I couldn't help but think that we may never see them again. Our lives intersected for a few years and now we go our different ways. We wish them luck with their life's journey. We hope to keep in contact as long as possible, but we realize the correspondence will probably trickle down as the years go on. That makes me sad. But I will do all that I can to keep our friendships going, despite the distance between us. Blogging makes that easier -so to all those people who are reading this and don't have blogs - get one! I will read it! Keeping in touch will be so much easier! Anyway, thank you Houston for the wonderful times. It has been an excellent chapter in our book of life! Love ya!

Love,
Mike and Audra C*

p.s. I would have written this earlier, but we did not have internet until today. I hope you are not offended.

p.p.s Our move has shown me how dependent I am for the internet and a microwave. Life is way different without these two things! I am glad I have one of them back now. Now for the other...

H-town does have its strong points, and you're right, the people are the best. i feel like i grew up in the HP ward, i guess since that's where i started my adulthood and i learned so many things from so many people there. it's a wonderful place, and you don't really realize that until you're gone. good luck in GA! again, the jealousy of sister proximity is overwhelming. :)

I'm not sure if I'm jealous of you being near a sister or your sister being near you :) You'll be missed!

As for H*, I'm pretty sure you nailed it. The people make this place great. And there is an inumerable amount of activities for all the family! But I'm pretty sure you talked us into a visit. We just need ot find a good time.

Although I didn't live there, I really enjoyed our visits and will miss it! It will always be a special place to us because you lived there. What a great idea - to write a letter of thanks to the city you moved from!
