A Good Bargain!

Now that I finally get to decorate our home, I have gone shopping for new furniture and decorations. Um, it's expensive. My excitement for new things kind of fizzled when I actually priced the things I like and want to buy. There has to be a way to get want I want for less money! There is a way that helps. Yard sales! These past Saturdays I have found the expensive neighborhoods around our home and have driven around looking for yard sale signs. Surprisingly I found quite a few. Even with the cooler weather, they are still going strong. Lucky for me! I am just amazed at what I find at these sales. The trick is to go real early, right when they open and to hit the rich areas. These people have nice stuff and sell it for cheap! I get most of my children's books from yard sales. I can usually get them for 25 cents. I prefer that over $10-15! I have found excellent children's toys also that I'd pay at least fives times as much at a Toys R Us. And as for furniture and decorations. You definitely have to go early to catch the good furniture. I imagine we will save up and buy a new couch, but I have seen other furniture pieces that I'd be totally happy to buy - I just haven't yet. Decorations I like are easier to find. So anyway, the spring and fall are the peak times for yard sales and again, the trick is to go early. It's amazing the bargains you can find. I absolutely love it!

Oh, and the Goodwill is a great place to find nice things for cheap. I can find things I want for less money! It feels so good!
