This Halloween was unlike any Halloween we have had with our children. Mike and I did not come through with festive activities leading up to Halloween night. We did not even get a pumpkin. Well, we tried to....the night of Oct. 30 and we couldn't find a store still carrying pumpkins. That is wierd to me, but I guess that is how it goes around here. I didn't bake much and we had no Halloween decorations. I feel sad and guilty just thinking about it. But Halloween night made up for our lack of festive activities (and I don't think the boys even noticed). We tagged along with Jessi and Dave and their tradition with Dave's family. Dave's big old family gets together and does a hayride through the neighborhood, stopping at the houses for trick-or-treating. Kyle and Jordan sprinted from house to house and even opted to run behind the hayride wagon - they had way too much adrenaline going! These holidays have a whole new feel now that my boys are old enough to understand the meaning of them. It is so fun to see their excitement and adrenaline going! Tanner surprised me by being a little scared about the whole thing, but Mike did not let up on getting Tanner to each doorstep to retrieve the candy. I knew his scheme - Mike wanted all the candy he could get! Even after a long night and Tanner's reluctance to walk up the long driveways, Mike carried him to each door. I think he has the worst sweet tooth of the whole family!
Now for the most important news.....I think spiderman has seen his last day! Our little spiderman costume has made it through three years in a row - two for Kyle and Jordan and one for Tanner. We got our money's worth out of that one! It will go down in history as the beloved Halloween costume and dress up toy. It was truly loved in our home. Kyle and Jordan graduated to more grown up costumes of vampire and Robin. My little boys are growing up!

oooo, Teen Titans Robin! Parker will be so jealous! They look great!
Sooo cute and fun!! You have a knack at thinking up and making good Halloween costumes! Your boys look darling, and I can just picture Kyle and Jordan's enthusiasm and Tanner's reticence. And thank you for including the funny part about Mike's sweet tooth--that made me laugh. :)
So cute! That last picture reminds me of when ya'll came for hannah's birthday party and mike was entertaining the kids with the hose, he's so good with the kids. I bet you're just loving it there. I'm so excited for you... sorry I missed seeing you before you moved );
What a fun Halloween!! Wish we could have been there to enjoy it with you! Nothing brings more joy than watching your children have fun!
Your boys loved that spiderman costume so much! Do you still have your Cat in the Hat costumes? Those were great too!
Yes, we still have the cat in the hat. I think those were our best costumes ever! It was just too fitting!
Oh and for some reason I had to retype your comments because my blog wouldn't let me publish them for whatever reason. It seems to be fine now, but that's why there isn't a link to your profiles.
