Give Me An Occupation...

I thought about my wedding day today. And funny that this is the first thing that popped into my head:

Mike and I were married in the Salt Lake temple but my family didn't live in Utah, so we stayed the night at my Grandma and Grandpa H*'s. Mike's family didn't live in Utah either, so he stayed at one of his extended relatives home. Our wedding wasn't until 3 pm so we had a little extra time in the morning, which was really nice. Mike came to pick me up from my Grandma's home and drive me to the temple. He was early. I wasn't done with my hair yet so he just had to wait out in the living room. Well, he could not just sit and wait. He was so anxious and restless! I think he asked my Grandma and Grandpa if he could help them do anything and they said no, they were fine. He asked a few times and they said no. He finally said to Abbi, my sister, "Give me an occupation and then I will go mad!" Do you recognize that line from a movie? Well, he said it wrong, but do you recognize it? Mike ended up vacuuming my Grandma and Grandpa's whole house. I love that about him! I love that story! Oh, and since I was sitting in the bathroom, getting my hair done, I wasn't there to see the scene so I might have got it wrong. Abbi, you can correct me if I got it wrong. But I do know that Mike vacuumed their house and I do know he said, "Give me an occupation and then I will go mad!"

"Give me an occupation, Miss Dashwood, or I shall go mad" One of my favorite lines of all time. That is priceless of Mike!

I don't know why blogger is doing the anonymous thing--it didn't do that to me when I switched. Hmmm....this is Tara, btw

That is too funny! Aaron is the same way, he can't just sit and do nothing!

I think that is so cute! What a great story for your posterity! I can just see Mike doing that.

I switched to the google blogger right when it came out. That is frusterating! Get on the website and go to the chat room thing, that is how I figured some of my problems out.

LOVE IT! I think I had heard that story before but forgotten it. Sometimes I say lines from those movies just to test David. He does surprisingly well. Yesterday I said, "We have some of the silliest girls in all of Georgia" and David replied, "Pride and Prejudice."
