Second Home

Since moving to Georgia, we have a second home. A real home - a house with beautiful decorations in a perfect little neighborhood. Mike and I have never had that since we have always been in apartments. Thanks to Jessi and Dave for letting us come to their "Cranberry Cottage" and experience the coziness of a real house home! It is always the perfect afternoon or day visit for us (I can't speak for their family, but our family loves the visits!). We bring Kyle and Jordan's bikes and they spend most of the time outside riding around. They have made many friends in the cul-da-sac. Yesterday they spent most of the time going off a bike ramp that Justin shared with them. Of course they absolutely loved it. Um, I didn't so much - I see broken bones in my near future! But luckily there were no broken bones yesterday and the boys had a terrific time trying new bike tricks (Kyle stands on his seat while riding - dad, does that sound familar?). Jessi and Dave have exactly what Kyle and Jordan need - space outside to play hard, and little boys in the neighborhood to play hard with. They are such good boys when they have that.

Tanner is so comfortable in their house that he wants to strip down to his undies every time he is there. I have started fighting this because he is too old for that! He knows my stance so he goes to Jessi or Dave and asks them oh so nicely to take off his clothes. He says "pleeeeease" with such pleading it is near impossible to say no. Jessi and Dave usually give in, saying "aunts and uncles don't need to enforce the rules as much." By the end of the day I am tuckered out from battling that fight and he usually runs around in his undies. He's very comfortable in their home!

When I am in Jessi's home, things seem a bit easier and life seems a bit better. My boys are playing and happy, I get a best friend to talk to, and we both help each other out with the chores. Making dinner is so much easier and nicer with someone helping you (and in the case yesterday, when someone makes it for you)! Life is good. I love my second home!

And we love having you!!!!! For years I dreamed about what it would be like to live by my family. It is even better than I imagined!

I'm so glad you have your sister nearby! That's such a blessing...my sister and I always talk about how nice it would be to live near each other and spend lots of time together. I'm so happy for you. And your boys are so lucky too, to have all that space to play hard and run around. I sure know much little boys need that!

I wish we had a second home, a real house that we can let the kids run around in. It must be so great to be so close to family! I look forward to that someday!

Your kids will always remember those wonderful times spent with their cousins. That's so awesome you can share so much time with your loved ones. I'm so thankful that our kids still live so close by. I dread the day that one of them moves. I love reading your blogs Audra. I hope you don't mind. I know I don't mind you reading and commenting on mine. I love you all!!!

Isn't family near by the best?! I am so happy for you both. And her house is beautiful, every time I see pictures of it, it reminds me of something in "Country Living" magazine... truly picturesque.
