Family Perk

Not only do Dave and Jessi feed us all the time, they even invite us to go to the lake and go skiing with them. It is Dave's family boat, but I think Dave and Jessi use it more than everybody else. They are regular lake bums. The C* family, however, hasn't been in a boat on a lake for many years. In fact, I think the last time was with Jessi and Dave when Kyle and Jordan were about two. They obviously do not remember, so going to the lake last Monday night was like their first time. And it showed! We started driving out of the bay and Jordan got this look on his face and exclaimed, "Somebody save me from the wild catfish!"

Mike was the first one to enjoy the skiing. Pretty good for not skiing for a few years!

The best part about Mike skiing was seeing his sons faces as they watched him. Now that is priceless!

Dave grew up on the lake. He knows a thing or two about skiing!

Jessi did slolam (is that how you spell it, Jessi?) skiing also, but I won't post the pictures here. She is too harsh on herself and I don't want her to be mad at me.

After the adults went skiing, it was the kids turn to tube. Kyle hopped right in, but then wasn't so sure about the whole thing once the boat started. Mike was there to encourage him.

He did like it!

Jordan was the scaredest of all! We seriously had to prep talk him.

But since his brother did it, he had to do it too.

But it wasn't pretty!

Although he cried and screamed for half the ride, he later asked to go again, and again.

It was Summer's time to go. She asked Tanner, "Tanner, will you please go with me?" He replied, "Um, no. I can't."

Tanner's thrill was turning the boat on and off for Uncle Dave.
We boated and swam until it was dark and time to go back to the dock. It was a fabulous Family Home Evening Night! Thanks Jessi and Dave!

*No I did not ski. And no there are no pictures of me. Don't worry about it.

I remember wakeboarding when I was pregnant with Bradley. Probably not the smartest thing to do, and definitely not the prettiest thing either.
I can't believe Jordan was so nervous. Those pictures are so cute!

That was such a fun night. We need to do it again soon!!!

(It's "slalom". I learned that the hard way.)

(And thanks for not posting pics of me. We'll just let everyone imagine that I'm a svelte, skinny skier.)

What a cool post. I love seeing the boys faces as they are watching their dad.

You should post pictures of Jessi. She shouldn't be so harsh on herself and really, how long can she be mad at you.

Plus, I want to see how she skis in those dress type bathing suits she was trying to drum up support for.

BTW, I didn't think Family Home evening could be that fun. Doesn't it say that in Nephi or something.

just kidding!

Oh, and as to your last sentence. I am worried about it! ;)

I love these photos Audra - they are amazing. And I don't blame you for not skiing - I'm terrible at it - absolutely terrible.

That looks so fun! I wish I could water ski. I've never been able to as many times as I've tried. You guys are lucky to be able to go!

Spectacular pictures! I love to waterski! I have tried to do it everytime I've been pregnant, and it just doesn't work. Too much weight, you can't get out of the water. I don't blame you for not trying.

What fun fun pictures! You did an excellent job describing to me K and J's reaction to the whole thing. It won't take very many times til they are tubing with the best of them! Oh, and remember to keep that life vest on Tanner!

That looks so fun... you got the greatest pictures. And I loved the ones of the kids watching their dads... yes, priceless! I am surprised that Jordan was scared to go out, and I love the pictures you caught of his fear, all part of the memories!
