to eat or not to eat?

I am not a girl to deny my body what it wants. When I am hungry, I eat. When I want a dessert, I have one. My diet philosophy is to make healthy food choices, eat when I'm hungry, and stop eating when I'm full. Though I have a harder time stopping when I'm full than eating when I'm hungry, it has worked pretty good for me. Until now. I'm not so sure this diet philosophy works when I'm pregnant because

I WANT TO EAT ALL THE TIME!

Surely my body doesn't need all that food! I remind myself that I gained 10 pounds in a week when pregnant with Tanner. That's right. You heard me. Ten pounds in a week! And I could easily do it again. Hmmmmm, maybe that's why I have a big face and arms in my hospital pictures after delivering my babies. It's hard to lose the weight after delivering, but it's hard to NOT eat when your body tells you it needs food. What is a woman to do?
Ooh, that picture is making me hungry.

Audra - I have the same problem ... to make you feel better I will tell you what I've eaten so far today (it's now 2:00 PM) ... 1) Powdered Donuts 2) Eggs 3) Bacon 4) Tater Tots 5) Chicken Strip - only 1 because they were running out:-) 6) Mashed potatoes 7) Greens Beans 8) a salad 9) some tuna salad 10) an egg role 11) a Star Crunch 12) some onion rings and someone that sits behind me just bought some popcorn from next door so there is a really good change that I will be adding that to the list before I leave for the day! This is how I've eaten for the last few weeks and since that's not normal for me I can only assume it's the babies and that's probably your situation too! I think you should give them what they want and worry about the weight later - your going through enough misery with pregnancy so you should at leave have some indulgence :-)

Pregnant or not, I could gain 10 lbs in a week EASY. Self control is NOT my forte.

You probably shouldn't eat. In that picture of you, your belly was a lot bigger than I remember.

Unless you are pregers . . . and then by all means eat away. I had what Bobbie had for a pre-breakfast snack. Of course my body isn't exactly that of a Greek God. I could stand to lose 2.5 to 3.2 pounds to get to that status.

Audge, you are skinny bean and will lose the weight after birth . . . treat yourself!

Baby C:

"Mommy, please eat. I am hungry! Thank you."

"P.S. I want to be bigger than the Tan Tan man when I am his age so eat lots! I promise to 'think small, be small' on my way out!"

Oh, I like this advice you are giving me! I feel a whole lot better.

Except for the thought that this baby will eat more than the Tan Tan Man. That's a scary thought, that makes me very tired.
