I really like to swim. But sometimes I just don't want to. What do you do if your kids are BEGGING you to take them and you just don't want to go...just because? It's hard to tell them no just because you (meaning I) want to be lazy. Well, now I can go with them and not have to swim. It's totally awesome. I can bring a magazine or a book, sit close to the pool and keep an eye on them without having to get in the water. Yep. That's right. My three old Tanner is a swimmer. He hasn't had any official swim lessons, but he's been exposed to the swimming pool since a few months old and he's just a water baby. He loves it. I love it too because it completely wears him out and it guarantees that he will fall asleep within hours from getting home (I have been taking them swimming early evening and it makes for a great bedtime!). I only have two more months of this free relaxing time. Then it's back to monitor my baby, monitor my baby. I love my babies, but I also enjoy them growing older and learning new things. I like how they become more independent.

Wow, Tanner can swim already? It doesn't surprise me though, after seeing Kyle and Jordan swim! Swimming just runs in your blood!
I'm glad you have had a break from the constant-monitor stage of very young children! Very young children are wonderful, but they are very time-consuming! I hope these relaxed moments will energize you for baby number four, coming soon!
Congrats! This is a huge step. Almost as big as when they learn to hold their own bottle or feed themselves :-)
I remember how nice it was to go to the pool and not have to micro-manage the situation. I loved it! As they get older and more independent it will get even better for you! You'll be able to lay out in the sun, read your book and relax! The older they get the farther away you can move from the edge of the pool too!
What a fun day. I know my grandkids sure love the water too. It's so important for them to learn how to swim also.
RELAX because baby is coming soon. RELAX, RELAX, RELAX!!! :)
and great pictures!!
It's so nice when you don't have to get in! I do that with Alex too!
Tanner is the cutest little swimmer. He is his mama's boy!
watch out world, right? how exciting!
What an independent kid! That's so fun!
I sympathize with the new baby monitoring...it's a motivator to have my babies close together. Growth and independance are wonderful things to see in your children, not to mention the freedom it allows you from time to time. Good luck with the new baby. Can't wait to see the pics.
Heck...I wish my 5 year old would learn how to swim!
