10 things I'd spend extra bucks on:
1. jeans - if I find a pair that actually look good on me, I'm getting them. I'm picky about how they fit.
2. certain furniture pieces, especially a couch - there are just some things you can't find at a garage sale or consignment sale.
3. my own delivery and recovery room in the hospital - Mike payed extra for one when I had Tanner and now I am spoiled.
4. a house that has a bonus room - I absolutely love the extra space! It is all worth it to me.
5. vacations, especially trips to see family
6. unlimited long distance phone calling/ high speed internet/ DVR - once you have these, you can't go back to anything else!
7. photography equipment - though I haven't been into it lately. Maybe it's because I can't move very well to get a good shot!
8. scrapbooking/journaling/pictures - it's all worth it.
9. shampoo and conditioner - the cheap kind just doesn't do it for me.
10. swim suit - I'm picky about how my swim suits fit and when I find one I like, I will pay for it! Besides, I will use it so much in the summer.
10 things I wouldn't spend extra bucks on:
1. getting my hair highlighted and cut - after having friends do it for cheap, I can't get myself to go to an expensive salon.
2. children's clothes - my boys are way too rough on their clothes to get anything nice (except church clothes for special occasions)
3. hand bags - I'm all about funtion with hand bags. I don't like to spend my own money on them, but I like them as gifts!
4. graham crackers/cereals - the Wal-Mart $1.00 a box graham crackers are fine with me. The store brand cereals are fine also.
5. children's toys/DVDs - again, my children are rough on their toys. Remember Sid from Toy Story? Besides, there are TONS of toys out there at garage sales! And they scratch the DVDs too much. Our VHS's have lasted a lot longer than our DVDs.
6. jewelry - I think you can find really cute jewelry that isn't very expensive. And I get tired of them after a while, so why spend so much on something that won't last too long?
7. preschool - My boys and I have done fine without the specialized popular preschools. They are so expensive around here!
8. books - I can check them out at the library. And if I want to get it for my own library, I can probably find a good deal on it.
9. gourmet restaurants - I feel out of place at those fancy restaurants anyway. Mike and I like the casual, shorts and T-shirt night out restaurants. It's crazy to me to spend $70 on a medium sized steak and mashed potatoes (though I admit, it probably tastes REALLY good).
10. apparently a cell phone because we STILL don't have one!

I agree with ALL of it... BUT the cell phone! I just don't know how you could travel or drive alone with 3 boys without a cell phone. If something went wrong, what would you do?? How would you call anyone to help you?? That is how I look at it. Actually, our cell phones are our home line. We don't like home lines.:) I like this post!!!!
I'm frugal when it comes to a lot of things too. I'm with you on the jeans too. It's practically impossible for me to find a pair that I like, so when I do they're mine!
Yes to everything except the cell phone. Once you have one you will love it - just like high speed internet and DVR! It is the best. You'll wonder how you ever survived without it.
I like this post too! There are some things we can be frugal on, and there are some things that are worth paying for! I'll be thinking of my list and post it soon.
