pleasant sounds, pleasant thoughts

I should have known this would eventually happen. I mean, don't most boys eventually learn this? Kyle and Jordan have learned and are now perfecting the armpit fart.

They are so proud to show me the variety of ways to make that wonderful sound. And they are getting better and better at it. There are multiple ways of doing it. Did you know that? Now I do. Apparently Jordan came close to getting a purple slip (very bad!) because he just couldn't resist showing his classmates his new skill. We've had a good talk about the appropriate times to make those sounds and I pray he remembers that while at school. I stick with my definition of a boy - a noise with dirt on it.

Speaking of those bodily noises. Tanner has a new thing also. He toots and then says, "That was you, mom." It wasn't me, you little stinker! Luckily he has only said it at home when it's just me and him. But I bet in the near future it will happen in public.

I have shown you my pictures of my pregnancy progression. Now I have a different pregnancy progression I have been thinking about:

*Before becoming pregnant, or at the beginning of a pregnancy - "At the delivery, a baby that size is suppose to fit through where?! I don't know if I can do that. Talk about extremely unpleasant. I just don't know."

*At the end of the pregnancy - "You need to cut off an arm and a leg? Sure! You need to stick a huge needle in my back? Please do! You need to reach up and drag him out (this is what happened to Jordan), I don't mind. I have to push with all my might to get him out? Let's get this started. Just get this baby out of me!"

HAHA! Boys are so "musical" aren't they? Wyatt was a joy like that too, and I'm sure Connor will learn in time.

Sounds like you're motivated to have this baby! Only one week one day left! Woohoo!

Re: K&J's new sounds: Oh, the things a mother of sons has to go through!

It's funny how by the end of the pregnancy you are willing to do whatever it takes to get that baby out! I love the new tricks your boys know! :)

I remember learning to make armpit noises when I was a little girl and thinking it was SO cool. I can only imagine Kyle & Jordan's delight!

I just wanted to let you know that this posting is becoming quite famous. As we speak, I am grabbing a tissue to wipe the laughter tears from my smile-sore cheeks.

Elaine, Jessi crosstitched and framed that saying for me! It is in Kyle and Jordan's room to always remind them to respect their mother!:)

Mindy and Jodie, I'd totally take credit if it was me!

Oh yeah, and your description of pregnancy progression is right on! I especially appreciate the part about removing an arm... isn't it the truth! You'll do what ever it takes...

I'm sad to say Audra, I was a witness to the discovery of armpit noises. Labor Day Weekend- the Lake House- Kyle, Jordan & Brycen in the basement. I walk in to find Brycen teaching them this skill. I wish I could say it was a new skill to him. He's been able to do it for about two years. He's the oldest in our family but he has six older boy cousins. SORRY! =)

I LOVE your definition of a boy! I know this not because I have one, but because I married one.

I had a great laugh at the "armpit fart" story because all my grandsons do it - a real symphony! And, because they are so highly evolved, they also do back-of-the-knee farts . . . so be forewarned :-) (P.S. I can't wait to hear that it's Grandma Michelle :-))
