Please tell me that this is normal! Because I am sick of buying clothes, especially socks, on a weekly basis. Well, maybe not on a weekly basis, but it sure feels like it! Are your kids this rough on their clothes?

Oh yeah....Thomas goes through jeans in about 3-4 months - and that is only if I buy iron-on patches and reinforce the knee (on the inside, so you can't really tell it is there). Without the patches, the jeans will blow out in the knees in 1-2 months. (My tip: double-knee jeans cost ~$10-$15 more than regular jeans...but you can buy patches for ~$1.50....A LOT cheaper to put the patches in yourself) He wears jeans every day - it gets expensive to buy a whole new set every 4 months!!!
I always laugh at your boys socks. They are rough on clothes. But all the fun they have surely compensates for something, right? :)
Nate gets holes in his pants way sooner than my girls.
I have to buy new jeans for Timothy because David wears through them so quick. David's socks are just as bad. We got 12 pair around Christmas time, I hope they last for a while.
I think those clothes mean that they are somewhat active. We don't want to slow them down, so I guess we might as well get used to buying socks and jeans on a weekly basis.
PS You didn't wear your clothes out like that, you just grew out of them in a few days - especially Adam!
Dylan comes home with huge grass/mud stains on his jeans on a regular basis. I used to buy him nice jeans because they lasted so much longer. But it won't matter how much money I spend on them if he is doing that. So I don't anymore.
WOW!!! Not that rough... That is crazy. Braydens get pretty bad but we don't have to buy socks that often. You have some rough and tuff boys there! :P)
That is so funny. You don't have to worry about recycling or getting rid of things just cause they are too little. Now I understand why they are bare shirted in alot of pictures, I love that.
Not the kids in my family, John. He goes through socks like I've never seen! He'll get a new pair and it seems like within maybe 2 weeks they'll have a hole. Ugh!
My daughter has more holes in her pants than my boys. Go figure. Kjirsten gave me a hint I have benefited from. There is a store called Shopko here that has a Tough Kids guarantee. It states that the clothes will last. If they get holes in them before your child out grows them you simply return them for another the same size and brand. I have returned several. It used to be the only place I'd buy pants for Natalie.
Seriously, the holes in the jeans thing makes me CRAZY. And if there is a slight hole, they pick and pick until they have their jeans fully unpresentable. ARGH.
It is a total boy thing! Wyatt goes through jeans and socks so fast!! My girls on the other hand rarely have clothes that wear out, they just outgrow them...P.S. I hope Kyle got the package we sent him. We're glad he is having such a fast recovery!
You already know how I feel about this subject! It drives me crazy! I really appreciated Lyn's tip, I am going to look for some of those iron on patches, they sound totally worth it!
