Bob and his sweetheart

This is Bob, my next door neighbor. I recently spoke to him moments before he went to the hospital to say good-bye to Marjorie, his wife of sixty something years. My heart broke for him. And when he returned home from the hospice care center where Marjorie lived her last moments, Kyle made a keen observation. "Why does Bob walk a little slower?" Kyle asked. "Because his best friend, high school sweetheart, and wife of over sixty years just died and he is very sad," I responded.

I've seen lots of Hollywood romances and love stories, but for the most part, they have it all wrong. I got to see the real deal. I witnessed the truest and deepest love two people can have for each other.

And it was beautiful.

How sweet to witness such love. Great observation Kyle.

How sad! A lot of times the living spouse gives up and dies of a broken heart when they've been married that long. I wish him well in the days ahead.

Thank you for sharing this Audra. I completely agree! I will pray for Bob, that must be so hard for him.

Oh, Give Bob lots of attention. He reminds me of Bill, Kortney's next door neighbor who is the sweetest thing and always is so nice to me. He has beautiful Roses and let me take whatever I wanted to Kami's table decor for her wedding reception.
