#1. Are Mike and I truly fancy schmancy, high class people who just lack the funds to provide that everyday lifestyle?
NO.
Though it was fun to pretend for a day, Mike and I are truly a t-shirts and shorts, lets go to a ball game, lets be casaul, lets get more food for our money, type of people. I don't know if I am describing it very well, but I hope you know what I mean. That is where we are comfortable. That is how we most enjoy ourselves. Lesson learned - next time don't spend that much money for something we are not even comfortable with. But kuddos to Mike for the wonderful surprise and for setting everything up.

#2. Would it be weird to have a man give me a massage?
For how much massages cost and for how good Mike can give one, I have had only two visits to a spa. Considering how much I absolutely love massages, that is not very many. I know more than a few people who just don't do spa massages at all because of their uncomfortableness with the whole modesty issue. Both of my massages were by nice old ladies and I was totally comfortable and I was totally fine. But I wondered if it were a man, would I be uncomfortable? When I reported to the spa desk last Thursday morning and they said I had Dwayne as my massage therapist, a quick thought passed through my brain. "Dwayne? Oh, I don't want a man. Can't I get a nice old lady? Is it too late to ask for that?" I pulled myself together and told myself it would be fine.
And it was.
So what about you guys? Massage by massage therapists or massage only by a spouse? And if you do go to a spa, do you care if you get a massage from a man, a woman, or is either fine?

SPA SPA SPA any day!
Man or woman? Hmm... never had a man massage me in a spa. But gosh, I think at this age, I don't even care anymore. Ya know?
Glad you enjoyed your getaway. It looked amazing.
I've just started to get massages for my IT band, and they're working wonders. So far I've not had a male massage therapist... But men are stronger and can probably give a better massage. I still don't know how comfortable I would be when it came right down to it, but I bet I would be just like you, and it would be fine.
Never had a professional massage. I guess a guy would kind of freak me out. I never thought about it. I do fine with the back rubs I get from my hubby!
I've never had a spa massage. I keep asking for one but I never get one. And the ones at home are sadly few and far between.
Anyone rubbing on me in A+ in my book, if it is professional, of course.
My first massage was done by this hefty tongan woman. another one by a wimpy little girl. She did pretty good. I have never had a guy but I'll take the hefty tongan women anyday.
I have had a male gynecologist so I can't imagine that a male masseuse could be any worse than that. :)
