my wrestle

I don't wrestle with my boys. I use to but not anymore. I don't especially like the three sets of flying elbows and knees hitting me. Do you blame me? I don't understand how Mike puts up with it.

Anyway, Do you remember Kyle's statement about girls climbing trees, and our follow up conversation about it? Well, yesterday Tanner made a similar comment. Kyle and Jordan were in school and Josh was sleeping and Tanner was bored. I suggested we wrestle. I thought I could handle one four year old without receiving too much bodily injury. But he responded with, "Mom's don't know how to wrestle." Oh boy. Don't talk to me like that. I quickly body slammed him to the floor and while I pinned him there I explained that moms DO know how to wrestle. But this mama doesn't exactly like to wrestle. And then I had a faint memory. Mom, will you help me out on this. Didn't I win a wrestling tournament in third or fourth grade?

Yeah baby. Tanner, who's the wrestler now?

*I may or may not have body slammed him, but that's beside the point.

You are too funny. My four year old loves to wrestle. I usually suggest she does it with Daddy.

I remember when you came to visit when Kyle and Jordan were about 2 years old. I tried to wrestle with Jordan and quickly realized he took his wrestling seriously. I could have taken him, but I opted to divert his attention to something a little less painful. :)

You are one tough mama! Danny hasn't caught on to real wresteling yet, but anytime I'm on all fours (usually picking up toys or something) he jumps on my back and wants a ride. That job needs to be left up to Dad. :)

You are cool. Sometimes I have to do a little something to show my boys how tough I can be. It usually backfires, but hey, at least I try.

Yes, somewhere in the back of my mind I remember something like that - you were the best wrestler (or was it you won the arm-wrestling contest) in your class. I do not doubt that you have much wrestling talent! Now Tanner knows too! Go Audra!

only in a house o' boys:) we have this conversation quite a bit too! i usually defer to chris for wrestling 'cuz then i can make dinner or do something else on my own:) somehow it seems every game turns into this ultimately, eh? once when we were playing baseball, i told cole that the reason he hit a foul ball was 'cuz he spun around the plate with the bat & he immediately turned to his dad for confirmation...love how dad is all of a sudden the expert on everything?! @ least cole defied his dad & assured me he'd wear BYU gear to the game on Sat. vs. UofW:)
