need for speed

I didn't pay much attention to motorcycles until I married Mike. Now, I notice my head turning, to get a better look, as we drive past motorcyles on the road.

We've owned two motorcycles since we've been married and I've learned a few things about these bikes. First of all, they are so fun to ride!

I miss having one, especially on these summer days. (Have you noticed a trend here, in the past few posts? Going into the picture archives can do that.) Mike was a good man to sell his Katana 600 so we could buy a minivan. It wasn't an easy thing for him to do! And admitting why he was selling the bike to potential buyers didn't do anything for his ego either. But he was not a stupid man, and if he had that many babies (*see below picture) to take care of, he needed to think of a safer mode of transportation.

But he wasn't going to give up his need for speed addiction that easily. I had to make a deal with him. Whenever we travel down to the Florida beaches (which is turning out to be at least once a year), he gets to rent one.

Fine with me.

This is one of the motorcyles Mike has rented, with his brother, James, checking it out.

ah yes, our men who need manly toys. jay sold his bike when we moved here and has regretted it every sunny day (and there are lots here!) since. he's counting down the days until he can buy one again - this time a Victory bike - oh the testosterone level is going to go sky-high!

Before I read Michelle's comment that was EXACTLY what I was going to say. We never get out of the MOM MODE for CONSTANT REMINDERS!!! BE SAFE!!

Haven't your boys gone back to school yet?

What is your excuse for not blogging?

How much do I need to chip in to get the camera fixed?
