Hello Again

Wow. It's been over a week since I blogged. That's the longest I have gone. My reason? I have had an awful, awful week with a terrible cold, first trimester symptoms, and a little scare when I started bleeding. I saw the doctor, the baby is ok and everything should be just fine. I just have never spotted during a pregnancy before. But I am due Sept. 23 and it is just one baby. That's good to know! Anyway, this pregnancy has been so hard for me! I pray it gets better after the first trimester.

Anyway, enough about that. I want to share something with you that I thought was so funny. I tell my boys that it is so rude to say that the food I just made is gross. You know how it is. You just put forth the effort to make a nice dinner and then your kids say, "That's gross. I don't like it." I don't mind if they really don't like it (who likes to be forced to eat something they don't like!). I do mind how they express it. "That's gross" is not acceptable! So anyway, they are careful about what they say about the food I make. The other day, I made a creamy potato soup that I haven't made for a long time. I watched Jordan as he took a spoonful and gagged on it. He ran to the sink and spit it out. I said, "You don't like it, do you." And Jordan, trying to be sensitive of my feelings, said, "I like it............it just makes me want to throw up." Thanks Jordan!

Hey, a shout out to Steven and Mindy for the good news I just read on her blog! Congratulations on the new job! Phew! I am sure that feels so good! Email me the specifics. You do have my email address right?

Oh and I have to comment on how wonderful my family has been through this hard week. Especially my mom. I just love how she yearns to take care of her children. I complain about something and she has a quick suggestion of how she can help, even being across the country from me. "I'll send you money so you can order food and not have to make dinner," "I can call the Relief Society president for you so she line up some help," "I can fly down there and help you." She is one of the most selfless people I know. If she sees a job that needs to be done, she just gets up and does it. She won't wait for someone else to do it. She doesn't resent how much work she does. She doesn't compare her work load to others (she works soooooo hard!). She just sees something that needs to be done and she does it. She is amazing and I love how she takes care of her children. I love it because I love being taken care of! Thank you so much mom! It feels so good to be loved that much.

That is such a great story, thanks for sharing it! It made me laugh so hard. I hope you start feeling better and I totally agree that mothers are the best and I love mine for all she does for me too! They never stop being your mother no matter how old or how far away you are!

I tried to tell David that story at dinner tonight and he already knew it! That story shows how good and kind your boys are at their core. Sometimes they may be a little naughty, but when it comes down to it they are total sweethearts. And I feel like I haven't done enough for you during this pregnancy. Here I am, 30 minutes away! What can I do to help??
