Feel Like A Man

In my anticipation of eventually getting into a home, I am starting to plan my decorations and furniture. When I look at possible master bedroom decorations, I see not-so-manly decorations and I can't help but remember what my interior design teacher said in college. There were just a few men in the class and I think they were all married men. She couseled them, "If your wife wants to buy girly decorations for your master bedroom, let her! Because the more she feels like a woman, the more you will feel like a man!" I absolutely love that and I totally agree!

Oh, and about my grumpy day. Mike, being determined to get to the root of my grumpiness, asked if I had a bad dream. And after thinking about it, I said, "Yah, I did. Somebody on the street shot me in the back." He sympathied with me and said, "I'd be grumpy too if I got shot in the back." But I loved your comments on my grumpy day and just reading them made me feel much better!

O.k. ladies. Lets take this nice and slow. That quote from your teacher makes a nice argument but I am trying to picture Mike nestled in the middle among those rose petal pillows and to be honest, I don't know how manly he is going to feel (I can tell you how manly he would look :))no matter how womanly you feel. But, on the other hand . . . . ;)!

I guess there is a downside to having a male read your blogs, huh? Sorry!

John, I knew you'd have something to say about it! And I know that there are other males who read our blogs, but you are the only one man enough to comment! I am sure they appreciate your side of the story.

But still, it isn't about what he will LOOK like. You know. If I am happy, he is happy! And I admit, I don't think I will get a girly, girly comforter, but if I did, he can have a work bench in the garage with all of his manly tools.

I guess that it is pretty much true that if you are happy he is happy. However, if you do get a girly comforter, there is still a problem. He can have his work bench but you don't have to spend 1/3 of your life there. He has to spend 1/3 of his life under your girly comforter.

And you didn't either know I would have a comment for this post!
:)

Yah, a 1/3 of his life - SLEEPING. I don't think he will care at that point. Just give up. I win this argument. And that is my point. If there is an issue of decorations between the man or woman, the woman wins, right ladies?!

AWESOME quote - when I got married, I was totally worried about Jay liking our master bedroom set - so I picked out a uber-manly bchelor plaid for our comforter .... I hated it the entire time we had it. It was only last year that I was able to get a new one - cream and black toille - what a difference it makes in making me feel girly. I'll have to ask Jay if it makes him feel more manly to have me feeling more girly - I'm sure he will concur!

K, you win. I lose.

At what point do you consider what the man likes? Why not make everything in the house uber girly? Under your professor's philosophy you will feel even more womanly and that would make your husband feel that much more manly.

Again, you win. I lose. I was just wondering.

Ok, ok. I wouldn't get any furniture or decorations if Mike really didn't like it or want it. But I still like what my professor said.

I still win.

Oh Goodness, these comments crack me up!! :) lol..
Anyhow, I would be grumpy too if someone shot me in the back! grrr.. You had every right to be! :) And I really liked that quote!! I still play it safe and have a brown microfiber bed spread. I love it! It is the best I have ever had so far... All except the first day I got it Daxton took some sizzors to it and cut a few little holes!! I can't wait to get a new one just like it without little holes. I have a red, brown & green pillow to accent it and it looks lovely, but not too girly. :)

Audra, you always win in my book.
