I remembered that I didn't really talk about my Oregon trip (thanks for showing interest, Shana!). What did I do while there? Mostly shop. And I loved it! My mom and I make a good shoppping pair! My mom treated me to lots of additional maternity clothes - a great Mother's Day gift from her. Thanks mom! We looked for bridesmaid outfits and accessories for Abbi's wedding in June. And we looked for any other deals that were out there. It was fabulous!
I also got to visit some close friends. I got to see Channing (great friend from Texas) and her baby girl, Ann Marie, twice during my visit. She and Ann Marie drove down to my mom and dad's home for a day, and my mom and I drove up to visit her for a day. I got to see her beautiful home (built in 1894) which Dave (her husband) has done an amazing job on. And of course she treated us to some wonderful homemade cooking - homemade bread, a tastey roast, creamy mashed potatoes, boiled carrots, and yummy strawberries. She is seriously a good cook, always baking something up. Don't you love to have friends like that! Anyway, I loved seeing her and her family - Ann Marie (8 months) and Dallin (3 yrs) and even Dave for a little bit. It was just so great to be with her again.

I also got to stop by and see a good friend from Middle School. I lived in Eugene, OR from age 7 to 15 and then moved up to Washington. I got to know Brianne in Middle School and we had a blast in the classes we had together. We were always laughing! But after I moved, we didn't keep in touch at all. Well, I think we might have written once to each other, but that was it. And just before we moved to GA, she called me up and told me she was trying to track me down. Wow, was I surprised and happy to hear from her! She was married to Josh and had two kids. I found out she was still in Eugene (where my parents eventually moved back to) and I couldn't wait until I went up there to see her again. The big surprise was that she was baptized in March, just a few weeks before I saw her! I am so happy for her, but she is funny. She said something to the effect of, "Um, I am still getting use to the whole thing! It's a little overwhelming!" Man, I can imagine! The whole Mormon culture is a little different! But what matters is that the church is true! It may be an adjustment, but I hope the gospel brings as much happiness to her life as it has to mine. Anyway, she has a beautiful family, as you can see. Her husband does custom paintings for motorcycles. Mike REALLY wants to meet him! And her kids were absolutely adorable and EXTREMELY well behaved. After meeting their perfect children, I feel a little hesitant for them to meet my rowdy boys! No, just kidding...... but not really!

Well, there you have a general overview of what I did in Oregon. I saw my in-laws for general conference weekend, Channing D. twice, Brianne once, the turkeys a few times, and the malls Monday through Thursday! I loved it and I kind of want to go back. I do love my boys, but I am telling ya, it sure is nice to be in my mom's home!

I think it is so wonderful how you keep in contact with friends, even though you live far away! It takes extra effort, but it is so nice to keep in touch!
I am so glad you had such a wonderful time!! I have been waiting to hear all about it. I need to prepare myself for June 01st because I am flying out to Florida to see Troy & Kori without my kids and hubby! I think I may get a little homesick! :( But it sounds like you had a blast and a nice relaxing time! Looks like you have some great friends!!!
Fun stuff! I can't believe your friend was baptized so recently. You made me miss Channing a ton! You made me miss her cooking, too! That girl's got skill!

I'm so glad you got to see Channing and take pictures for us to see! Her kids are cute! How does she stay so thin when she cooks as well as she does?
