Empower Them

I need to remember that my goal as a mother is not to control my children, but to teach them and empower them to make good decisions right now and in their future.

Good point!!! Last Sunday at dinner my niece, Amanda, made a comment about how it was the mom's job to do the laundry. (Fighting words, I know!!). It occurred to me that it's really not a mom's job to do the laundry. Our responisbility is to teach our KIDS how to do the laundry (and other tasks) so when they grow up they can function as adults!
