Physiology of Drool

Anyone know the physiology answer to this question? Why do I drool when I take a nap during the day, but I never drool when sleeping at night? Now you all have a lovely mental picture of me drooling, don't you. Ha! But it's kind of wierd, don't you think? John, you must have some thoughts about this one. Please share!

Hmmmm . . . drooling during naps. Big hairy toes. Maybe I am learning too much about you in these blogs. just kidding.

I will have to ask Elizabeth about the drooling. When she takes naps I often use the term "puddling." I will let you know what she says.

I know someone who drools almost every night when he falls asleep....I think it has something to do with how quick you crash and your REM cycle (or something like that).

Wow Johnny. You don't have any insight? I am so surprised. You are just full of wise comments. But I do like that term puddling.

i've heard that you have excess saliva when you're pregnant. maybe that little dude in your tummy has something to do with it. :)

I can attest to Elizabeth's "pooling."
