this is my research

Remember what I said about hating to do research? Well, maybe you guys can help me. I am in the market for a baby sling. I have a gift certificate to Babies R Us so I'd like to buy it there. So any tips, suggestions, or warnings about baby slings? I know a lot of you have experience with one. Help me!

I don't have a link or anything, but this lady in my ward had a really stretchy black one that went around both of her shoulders. I think the stretch and the both shoulders thing helped distribute baby's weight evenly. I thought that was a great idea because I made one that went over one shoulder, and it was painful after a brief carry.

I never used a sling, just a regular carrier. Sorry I'm not any help.

Don't sling your babies. Slinging babies is bad.

I love my Maya Wrap, but I bought it online. It's a ring sling, which I like, because I can adjust it to many different positions. I can use it until my baby is 35 pounds (I use it with Sophia sometimes, if the baby is asleep in his carseat, I put it into the cart, and carry Sophia, then I have two immobile children.)

I bought a black one, because it's a neutral color and goes with everything.

It was great for when he was a little baby, and it's been great as he grows, so it's versitile.

Mine doesn't have padding, which I like, because I can cinch it tighter, and when I'm not using it it doesn't take up as much room in my diaper bag.

I used to have the Dr. Sear's sling, but I didn't like it as much, I felt like it didn't do the things I listed above as well.

Which ever one you chose, don't wait too long, you'll want to enjoy the benefits of being hands free as soon as possible!

Good luck.

I don't use a sling because I don't think they fit me well (maybe I just never had a good one)but I love my Baby Bjorn carrier!

Don't get the cheap infantino one. Too bulky, not comfortable. I was lured by the cheap price, but only used it like four times. Go bjorns!

I'm completely clueless when it comes to baby slings. Didn't exist when I had my babies. Sorry.

LOVE my maya wrap, just like Angela's. They are the best! I'm not sure if you can get one at Babies R Us though. I also like my Baby Bjorn too. But I like the maya wrap better.
