two things

Mike's schedule with his ER job is great. He works about 19 shifts a month. The shift is either 12 hours or 8 hours. I love his days off and I love how he can request certain days off. I am so extremely lucky to have him home with me quite a bit. I know I can't complain. But I do have a struggle with two things about his job. First, he can't request big chunks of time off for holidays (other times, yes, but not for holidays). And second, every time he works, he is gone at night, and thus I am the sole person in charge of bedtime. Bedtime is the hardest time of the day for me! I am physically and emotionally drained and then have to....blah, blah, blah, you know exactly what I am talking about. I don't need to explain. And I am totally aware that many moms have it much worse than I do. I know I can not complain. I am just acknowledging that this is a struggle for me. But at the end of the day, I am reminded by the crosstich that Jessi made for me.....

It sits on Kyle and Jordan's dresser to remind them also.

p.s. If you come to visit us, you will get clean sheets.

Yes, bedtime is a hectic and demanding time of the day. Go ahead and take a break during the day to rest up for it. You have my total empathy!

Isn't it sweet when the sons go down? Big sigh.

It's like a mini marathon every day, huh. I love that cross-stitch Jessi made for you!

That is beautiful Audra! What a great gift from Jessi! And I would not be worried at all going to stay with you! I just want to stay with you! :) hehe

Audra I hear you! I am sitting here tonight in tears feeling the same way! I love the ER schedule, but some days are just hard! I wish we were close by so we could do this together! Hang in there - I will try to do the same!

I love that stichery. I always think of my friends who have all boys everytime I see it. I know quite a few. One who is not much older than you and has 5.

Bedtime is a very tiring time at our house. The younger two still like to complain a lot. Good luck to you!

That is the cutest stitchery! Boys are a lot of work. Hooray for you! Bedtime is the worst part of the day.

I feel the same way by the time bed time rolls around. I want to have the sweet story reading and fun bath, but I am just too tired!!!
I have found that letting the boys play while I read a chapter in my book helps a little.

Oh yes, I know EXACTLY what you mean about bedtimes...I am SO exhausted by the time bedtime hits, sometimes I just shove them in their rooms fully dressed and shut the door. The end.
