100 dollar reward

Less than a year after my mom gave Kyle and Jordan their quilts, we almost lost one of them for good. We lived in an apartment with a community laundry facility. You can guess what happened. Yes, I left my laundry to dry and when I came back for it, it was gone. At first I didn't think it was that big of a deal. It was mostly Kyle and Jordan's clothes and we had plenty more of those (twins get lots of clothes as baby gifts!). But then I remembered one of the quilts was in the load. I panicked, cried, and then made a plan of how to possibly get it back. I took a picture of the other quilt and then made a flyer of the picture and offered a $100 reward (at first I was willing to give up my life's savings for it, but Mike suggested otherwise) for the person who gave the quilt back. I put the flyer up on every apartment door in our complex. The office called and told me to take them all down and I said, "ok." I don't lie, but that day I did. I didn't take the flyers down. And I am so extremely grateful to the woman who called and explained that she had sent her kids to grab their laundry and that they accidently grabbed mine also. To this day I thank God for their honesty and I have prayed that He will forgive my dishonesty with the flyers. I am just so happy to have the quilt back, for good.
Oh, and she refused the $100 reward. What a wonderful person!

Did you have to pay her the reward? I'm so glad you got it back. Aren't you glad you don't have to use a community laundry facility anymore!

I remember that day. I think I had the boys so you could pack. Instead you had to spend the day finding your quilt. I could tell how upset you had been and how relieved you were when it was all over

You make me laugh!... So did she take the $100 or did she just give the clothes/quilt back? That is what I wanna know... ;)

I hate thinking things are lost! I left my blanket in Japan when I was little and I couldn't sleep without it. Luckily my mom got a hold of the hotel and they said they had it. They mailed it back to me. I was so happy!

I love this story, and I am sure God has long ago forgiven you for the little white lie. :)

You are so good to worry about that. I think Heavenly Father definitely understands. :)
