on my mind

I just shared a great decorating tip a few days ago - surround yourself with things that you love. Now the big question is

What do I love?

And how much is it going to cost? It's been on my mind a lot lately. I was so engrossed in my thoughts this morning about these questions, I forgot to shave my other leg....and big toe (because my friend Mindy said I should). Do you think anyone would ever notice I had one hairy leg and toe and one shaved leg and toe? I highly doubt it. But of course, once I noticed the difference of my two legs, I hopped back in the shower and finished the job because I would be totally thrown off balance knowing I only had one smooth leg. That's just not right. And I always follow the rules.

Anyhoo, I have lots of time to think about what else I love and how I am going to get it. My decorating budget is empty right now because

I finally bought a couch!

Ladies and Gentlemen, that has been 9 years in the making. This is the very first time Mike and I have ever bought a couch. I have been very patient. Now let's hope it looks good in our living room. It comes next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Speaking of living rooms. I like this one. That's my style.

Now, how do I recreate that or something similar to that? Little harder than I thought.

Congratulations on the couch! I love that living room too--but I am decidedly deficient in decorating so I can't help you there!

Big congratulations on the couch! I have no doubt that it will look good and that you will achieve the look you want. Just keep working on it.!

SO pretty - I bet you'll have no problem recreating it in that lovely house of yours - can't wait to see what you do!

I would totally notice your grossly unshaven leg and big toe. Totally gross!

Now then. Lets get back to more important topics.

POST THE FREAKING PICTURE. Don't make me go non-Mormon on you.

Stop playing around with your toes and couches your new niece and your free time. Post the picture and let Mindy and I be judgemental. Lady Pyne, Abbi and Shana will think you are gorgeous. Mindy will say nice things but think mean thoughts. I will say mean things and think nice thoughts. It will be fun.

AND, Mike DID NOT toss that picture. He doesn't even read your blog so what do you care.

I mean I am fixing to get hit with a hurricane and instead of conserving gas and water I am trying to get you to post a picture. COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you have been warned. . .

Holy Cow! Eeeeeeasy!

I'm not lying. Mike deleted the email.

Get on with life, go hunker down away from the hurricane, and I promise that as soon as I get my camera back (it's on its way), I will post a bad picture of myself. Happy?

I too love that living room. I think buying a couch is a serious commitment - sometimes you have to keep it longer than a pet!! Did you both LOVE it, or did you win, or did you compromise - these are questions I have to answer when I decorate :)

You will have to go to Old Time Pottery. I just went a few days ago. Plan to spend hours there...I was there for 3 and didn't even hit all the isles. They have all sorts of stuff for achieving your look. You just got to know what you are looking for or you get completely overwhelmed by all the fun stuff. My suggest is collect things as you see them too. A great room doesn't happen over night and is always a work in progress! I have the same problem of deciding what I love because I love it all! Have fun decorating!
