We did it!
In the pouring rain.
We ran together the whole time.
It was Jessi's first one and she rocked it.
My boys didn't make it, cause they had their own games,
but I was cheered on by Chad, Dave, and my nieces.
Jessi bought us matching shirts
that had three pumpkins and said
"Happy Halloween".
They cheered us on, "Go Team Pumpkin!"
Later that night Mike had a night shift
and I had to take the boys trick-or-treating.
Not good.
I hobbled the whole way cause my knees were inflamed and very sore.
I didn't get good pictures of the boys,
but they still had a great Halloween
cause they came home with way too much candy.
I need to somehow get the candy out of the house.
Not for my boys sake, but for mine.
I am worse than they are when it comes to candy.
The End

Congrats! You guys are awesome to even do it in the pouring rain! Way to go! What a great memory you have made. And way cute T-shirts! Hey! I ran into Susan (Mike's Mom) at the SLC airport a couple weeks ago. So fun to see her. She is so cute!
Go us!!
Way to go ladies!!!
I'm still a little high from the experience. We ran 13.1 miles!!
Congratulations! Way to GO!
So cool! And awesome that you could do it together - I bet that helps with the mental part of it, knowing you're right there in it together.
I hear you on the candy... I've been snacking quite a bit too.
That's a great story with a very happy ending! I will always remember our 'Team Pumpkin'and how great they did in the rain. So sorry the trick-or-treating was painful. And I hear ya' talkin' about the candy. Way too tempting!
sounds like you earned whatever candy you've partaken of:) i'm esp impressed re: endurance in the rain! i've run in that weather obviously in wa in addit to heat & snow on other occas, but much pref temperate conditions that i've been blessed with for both of my previous half marathons!! not sure i could do a full, but thinking about one in newport next june?! in meantime, i fully plan on taking advantage of holiday treats:)
I am glad your sisters can show off their rainsoaked beauty and (ahem) not hide behind a hat.
:)
I recently posted too many pictures of my "[water]soaked beauty", but you want more, John?
And thanks for the congratulaions.
I would probably be going to the third heaven (if I am not already) if I said I minded the water soaked beauty pictures so based on that there could be more pictures.
But really I was just saying - take off the hat. We don't need a big ol hat covering up your face and hair, regardless if it is raining, ;)
Just teasing you! :)
I needed the hat.
You guys are so awesome! How fun to run together!! Hope you had fun on all of your trips! I will be coming to georgia a few times in the next few months, I am driving out to see Jr & Kelly! Maybe I will get to see you guys!!
