Ok. I survived that stink'n mastitis, twice. It came back after I was doing much better from the first time. But, I am trying to take my Aunt Elaine's advice and not be a "big boob" about it.:) In fact, if I had to get mastitis, then my situation was the best I could hope for. And here is why:
1. I realized very early that I had mastitis. Right away, I started the hot compresses. I continued to breastfeed and though that was the torture part of the whole thing, it is a good thing that baby Josh is great at latching on and sucking hard! It got that backed up milk flowing again.
2. Early in the morning that I knew I had mastitis, I called a lady from my ward and she was over in a half and hour. At that point I was at the worst stage of the infection - I had fever, chills, nausea, head ache, dizziness, plus the extreme tenderness of my breast. I realized I couldn't take care of Josh and Tanner and needed help. Well, Mr. Relief Society, you would be proud of how quickly she got the service train rolling! Thank goodness for the Relief Society and all the ladies willing to serve! Tanner, Josh, meals, a doctors appointment, and all my needs were taken care of! I couldn't have been taken care of better.
3. I got to the doctors as soon as I could and got the antibiotics that I needed.
4. Mike was off the following three days to help me recover.
Could I have asked for anything more? I think not.
So enough of that mastitis. I have missed you guys. I have missed blogging. Hopefully I can do better this next week! I have lots of pictures to post. A lot has gone on this past week. Are you ready for lots of baby and little boy pictures? Hope so.

Glad you are doing better! We missed you!
totally ready for baby pictures!
and i'm so glad you're feeling better. i think you kind of deserved to be a big boob about it. it HURTS! :)
I'm glad that's over. You are blessed! thank goodness for the RS! Can't wait for pictures of your boys!
SOOO good to hear from you and that you are on the mend. We've missed you so!
Oh yes! I can't wait for pictures!! I am so glad you called me today and that you are feeling a lot better! You are doing great Audra! You are such a great girl and I just love you so so much. Thanks for being such a great friend & cousin!!! :) And I don't think you were a Big Boob... ;) Maybe just a little one! lol.
I like that you can recognize the blessings in your life even during the trials! Now just stay healthy, and blog more pictures of Josh.
Can't wait to see the pictures. And we hope that's the last mastitis you ever have to go through.
I think it's only fair to mention that in the midst of her own pain Audra did some service, too. She came and got Summer two times this week (while I was on my cruise)so our babysitter could have a break. Talk about sacrifice! Thanks, Audra!!
(And I am totally going through baby Josh withdrawls. I bet he has changed so much in the week we've been gone. Let's get together soon).
I am so glad you are doing better. For sure that IS something to "BOOB" about. I remember when the twins were first born and you had "Nursing Nazi" nurses who were getting on your case about nursing. And now here you are nursing Josh. maybe you breast fed Tanner too.? Love the pictures. they look professional to me.
I finally figured out what mastitis was. Took me long enough. Well, I'm glad you're doing better!
I am glad that you are feeling better and I am glad "our" Relief Society was there for you!
You have a good attitude about the whole thing! I'm glad it's over for you. And you pictures are sooo cute! You did a good job!
